Backlixo ("we", "our", "us") is a backlink monitoring service operated by Backlixo. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website at backlixo.com and our application at app.backlixo.com.

By using Backlixo, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

02 Data We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account Information

• Full name and email address when you register
• Password (stored as a secure hash — we never store plain text passwords)
• Google OAuth profile data if you sign in with Google (name, email, profile picture)

Link Data You Provide

• URLs of pages where your backlinks are placed
• Target URLs you want links to point to
• Anchor text, DR scores, contact names and emails you enter
• Notes and deal terms you add to link records

Usage & Technical Data

• IP address and browser type when you access the service
• Pages visited, features used, and time spent in the app
• Error logs to help us identify and fix bugs

Payment Information

• Billing details are processed by our third-party payment processor — we do not store credit card numbers
• We receive only transaction confirmations and subscription status from our payment processor

03 How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Monitor your backlinks and detect changes
• Send you email alerts when links are lost or modified
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues
• Improve our service based on usage patterns
• Send occasional product updates (you can opt out any time)
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.

04 Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate Backlixo, in the following categories:

• Database & authentication provider — stores your account data and link records securely
• Hosting & infrastructure provider — runs the web application and API
• Payment processor — handles billing, subscription management, and tax compliance
• Email delivery provider — sends transactional emails such as alerts and account notifications

All third-party providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us. Upon request, we can provide a full list of sub-processors to verified account holders.

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Backlixo, our users, or the public.

05 Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure. We implement the following security measures:

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS
• Passwords are hashed using industry-standard bcrypt
• Database access is protected with Row Level Security (RLS)
• We conduct regular security reviews of our codebase

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

06 Cookies

Backlixo uses minimal cookies necessary for the service to function:

• Authentication cookies — to keep you logged in (session-based, managed by Supabase)
• Preference cookies — to remember your theme preference (light/dark mode)

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect the functionality of the app.

07 Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — request we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion — request we delete your account and all associated data
• Portability — request an export of your link data in CSV format
• Objection — object to certain types of data processing
• Opt-out — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time

08 Children's Privacy

Backlixo is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@backlixo.com and we will delete it promptly.

09 Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of Backlixo after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
